Located in a peaceful, mountainous community, local families tend to their land much as they have for generations.

Neighbours are kind and welcoming, and daily life moves at a slower, natural rhythm.

From time to time, you will hear trucks passing through the valley delivering fresh fruit from the nearby jungle to local farms and markets - part of the authentic life of the region.

While close enough to shops and restaurants, if you are looking for a rural Peruvian experience, you will feel at home here. This land is blessed with rarified air, hummingbirds, condors, and easy access to hiking trails and sacred sites.
The Ashram offers private and shared bedrooms, shared balconies, and a top-floor
meditation/yoga room- ideal for families, small groups, writers, remote workers, or
guests seeking a quiet nature-based stay.

The main guest bedrooms are located on the second floor:

3 bedrooms + 1 shared bath
Sleeps up to 7 guests
Private kitchenette

Mountain views and natural light throughout

For larger groups or extended stays, an additional first-floor bedroom may be available
upon request, accommodating up to 2 additional guests + 1 shared bath.

The property offers a balance of private sleeping quarters and comfortable shared
spaces, making it well-suited for small groups traveling together.

Getting Around
Picture
Guests may choose to rent a car in Cusco for flexibility in exploring the Sacred Valley.

Local transportation is also easy to arrange. Taxis are readily available at reasonable prices for travel to nearby towns, sacred sites, and other attractions.

As the property is located approximately 15 minutes outside of Ollantaytambo, a taxi to or from town typically costs $10 USD (or 35 soles). Your hosts will help coordinate trusted local drivers if needed.

As you are responsible for meals, other than breakfast, you may choose to eat out at restaurants, order take-out, or buy your food in the nearby market and cook at home. Believe it not, delivery from Ollantaytambo is possible, including pisco sours!
If arriving by air, the nearest airport is Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco. From Cusco, the drive to the Sacred Valley Mountain Retreat takes approximately 2 hours, depending on traffic. Private transfers can be arranged in advance and are recommended over taxis that are available at the airport. Your hosts are happy to provide guidance to ensure a smooth arrival.

Simple Living at the Ashram

Ashram life is a shared experience. Breakfast is provided, while guests prepare their own additional meals, wash their dishes, and help maintain the shared spaces. Light housekeeping supports the flow, while everyone contributes to the harmony of the home.

What to Wear? Comfort & Layers in Peru

For travel in Peru, comfort and practicality are key. The culture is very relaxed, so there is no need to dress formally or bring fancy clothing. Comfortable sneakers or walking shoes are ideal for most activities- hiking boots are usually not necessary. The most helpful strategy is to dress in layers, as the temperature can change throughout the day. A light rain jacket is also recommended in case of occasional showers. Overall, the climate in many parts of Peru is temperate, rarely becoming extremely hot or cold, so simple, comfortable layered clothing will allow you to adjust easily and enjoy your time.
